Siddhesvara Siva Temple stands within the Kapilesvara temple precinct in Kapilesvara village, part of the Old Town of Bhubaneswar. It dates from the 15th century, and the local priest says it was built in the reign of Kapilendra Deva. The east-facing temple is cared for by the Kapilesvara Temple Trust Board, and Sankranti and the Jalasayi ceremony are among the occasions marked here.
The sandstone shrine has been fully renovated, with repairs by Odisha State Archaeology. It is a pidha temple in the Kalinga style, about 3.7 m tall on a low platform, and its sanctum holds a Shiva lingam in a round laterite yonipitha. The three side niches hold Shiva's family: a four-armed Parvati with trident, noose and lion on the north, a standing Kartikeya with bow, arrow and cock on the west, and on the south Ganesha on a lotus with his broken tusk, a bowl of modakas, a mace and a rosary.
