Nagesvara Temple is a working Shiva temple in a residential area of Bhubaneswar, on the right bank of the Lingaraja West Canal, about 10 metres from the Subarnesvara Siva Temple across the water. Local people believe it was built by the Kesharis.
The west-facing temple stands on a low platform of about 5.6 by 5 metres and rises to 8.15 metres. Its sanctum holds a Shiva linga roughly 2.5 feet high. The exterior is of ochre sandstone, like that of the Mukteshvara Temple, and is richly carved in the Kalinga style, with several niches for sculpture; Shiva's family fills the main ones, with Parvati on the north, Kartikeya on the east and Ganesha on the south. The temple is in generally good repair, though some surfaces have worn.
