The story

Saidani Ma Tomb, or Maqbara Saidani Ma Saheba, stands near Tank Bund on the shore of Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad and is a state-protected monument of Telangana. Nawab Abdul Haq Diler Jung, among the wealthiest nobles of his day, built it in 1883, while Asaf Jah VI was on the throne, to honour his mother, Hazrath Saidani Ma Saheba. Originally from the Bombay Province, he served as the state's Home Secretary and from 1885 directed the Nizam's State Railways.

The tomb blends Mughal and Qutb Shahi styles, with rich stucco work and fretwork jali screens. The grave itself lies underground beneath the dome and is closed to the public. The complex also holds the tomb of Diler Jung himself, with a Muslim graveyard behind.
