The story

NTR Park is a 36-acre public garden in central Hyderabad, named after N.T. Rama Rao, the film star who went on to become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Landscaped lawns, flower beds and large shade trees fill the grounds, and the planting is arranged so that the park changes look through the year, with spring blooms and dense summer shade.

A tall statue of Rama Rao is the centrepiece of a collection of sculptures ranging from traditional Telugu motifs to modern pieces. The park has jogging tracks, walking paths, areas set aside for yoga and meditation, and a play area with swings and slides for children. Benches and gazebos are dotted around the lawns, cultural events are staged here during the year, and the paths are lit after dark for evening walks.
