01 — The story
The story
The Regional Science Centre in Guwahati belongs to the National Council of Science Museums. Its permanent galleries are built around interactive exhibits that visitors can handle and experiment with, so that scientific ideas are explained through direct experience in an informal setting rather than through textbooks.
The centre also runs regular programmes and activities for students and others with an interest in science. Entry costs Rs 30 per person for general visitors, Rs 25 per head for groups and Rs 15 for organised private school groups.
