Parimal Garden, whose official name is Pari Trikamlal Bhogilal Municipal Recreation Park, covers 8.5 acres in the Ambawadi area of Ahmedabad. It grew out of a late-1950s plan by the city's first mayor, Chinubhai Chimanlal, and opened in 1960 on low-lying land with an old banyan and a tank, ground that often fills to form a pond; Ambawadi is named after the many mango trees of the area. The Torrent Group took over its upkeep in 1995, redeveloped it by 2000, and restored it again from 2021, reopening it on 9 August 2022.
At the centre is a lotus pond with fish, ringed by a hundred terrazzo benches. Around it are a walkway, a herbal garden, lawns, a sports zone, a pet park, a yoga and meditation pavilion, a two-storey gym and a 250-seat amphitheatre. Brick chimneys recall the city's textile-mill past, there is an art installation of scrap-metal monkeys by Premkumar Vaishya, and the 2021 work added more than 600 trees of 45 species.
