Para Lake is a man-made lake in Mehsana city, first dug during Gaekwad rule. Its official name today is Swami Vivekanand Lake, and it covers 950 square metres.
A plan to beautify and redevelop it began in 2007 under the Mehsana Municipality, but stalled amid allegations of a scam after about ₹80 lakh had been spent, and over the years of delay the estimated cost rose from ₹3 crore to ₹7.8 crore. Work restarted in 2016, and Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel opened the renamed lake to the public on 4 August 2019. The grounds now have a children's play area, a yoga centre, a food court, jogging tracks, boating and a toy train.
