The story

Miya Khan Chishti's Mosque, more fully the mosque and tomb of Miya Khan Chishti, is a Sufi mosque and dargah complex on the bank of the Sabarmati in the Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad. Malik Maksud Vazir, brother of Malik Bahauddin, had it built in 1465 for Miya Khan Chishti, whose family held the office of city kazi, or judge, under the Gujarat Sultanate. The family of Sardar Kazi Nasiruddin Fariduddin still maintains it.

Its Indo-Islamic design draws in elements of Hindu temple architecture. Three main domes rise among several smaller ones, and the ornate entrance is flanked by two finely carved stone minarets. Both minarets were damaged in the 1819 Rann of Kutch earthquake, and the mosque was damaged again in the 2001 Gujarat earthquake.
