The story

The Shree Camp Hanuman Temple stands within the Ahmedabad Cantonment at Shahibaug and ranks among India's largest Hanuman temples. It is about 250 years old and is said to have been founded by Pandit Gajanan Prasad, a devotee of Hanuman; its image of Hanuman is believed to be self-manifested. The temple is run by the Shri Hanumanji Mandir Camp Trust.

Many devotees come here seeking protection and strength, and because it lies inside a military cantonment the temple has close ties with soldiers and army personnel. In 2021 the trustees proposed moving it to the Sabarmati riverfront because of army security restrictions, but priests and devotees opposed the move and a local association took the matter to the Gujarat High Court. On Tuesdays and Saturdays it stays open later than on other days.
