The story

The Saiyad Usman Mosque and Tomb, also known as the Usmanpura Dargah or Roza, is a Sufi shrine in Usmanpura, Ahmedabad. Saiyid Usman, a disciple and successor of Qutub-ul Alam, lived with his teacher at Vatva before founding Usmanpura as his followers grew. He died in 1459, and Sultan Mahmud Begada built his mausoleum the following year.

The mosque follows the style of Sarkhej Roza, with a minaret at either end and a pillared, arch-free design. The tomb's dome rests on twelve pillars rather than the usual eight, and it is regarded as the most successful pillared tomb in Ahmedabad. Badly damaged in the 2001 earthquake, the complex was restored by the ASI in 2009 and is a Monument of National Importance.
