The story

Mezhuveli Anandabhootheshwaram Temple is a Shiva temple at the centre of Mezhuveli village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. Villagers built it about a century ago under the social reformer and poet Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker, and Sree Narayana Guru consecrated it. It stands on a site called Tholekavu, once a small forest believed to have belonged to the Pandalam kingdom, with hills on three sides and a stream to the west.

Sree Mahadevan is the main deity, with Ganapathi, Subramanian, Devi, Shasthavu, Nagarajavu, Nagayakshi and Brahmarakshassu as sub-deities. A Guru Mandir inside honours Sree Narayana Guru, and an arayaal tree grows in the grounds. The main offerings are neyvilakku, jaladhaara and Mrityunjaya pushpanjali, and Mondays and Saturdays are the favoured days for Shiva worship.
