01 — The story

The story

Mandwa Waterfalls lies at a place called Mandwa, off NH 16 on the Jagdalpur-Geedam road, around 31 km from Jagdalpur in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. Teerathgarh and Kanger Dhara, two other falls of the district, are very close by.

The water here comes down in steps rather than a single drop and gathers in a small reservoir. From there it carries on downstream to join the Kanger river, forming Teerathgarh and Kanger Dhara on the way, so the three falls are linked by the same flow of water.
