The story

Shri Radha Madan Mohan Ji Temple stands in Karauli beside the Bhadravati River, which feeds the Banas, in the Braj region. Krishna is worshipped here as Madan Mohan, flanked on the central altar by Radha and Lalita. Tradition says King Gopal Singh was told in a dream to bring the Madan Mohan idol from Vrindavan before Aurangzeb's attack on the temples there, and he carried it to Karauli overnight and built this temple for it.

It is counted among the Char Dham of Karauli district with the Kaila Devi, Mehandipur Balaji and Shri Mahavirji temples, and is said to be a required stop, along with Govind Dev Ji, to complete the Govardhan Yatra. A special offering of laddu and kachauri called Jugal Prasad may be made by only one person each day, and the waiting list runs to about two years. Janmashtami, Radhashtami, Gopashtami and Holi bring large numbers of devotees from across Rajasthan, with the premises decked in flowers.
