01 — The story

Kutni Dam crosses the Kutni river at Khajwa in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, about 7 km from Rajnagar and 12 km from Khajuraho. It is the largest dam in the district. The 25 m structure supplies irrigation and drinking water to the villages and towns around it, and a canal project drawing on it opened around 2013–14.

The reservoir is noted for its beauty and the sheer size of its waters. On a small island in the lake stands the Kutni Island Resort hotel.
