The Kumuram Bheem Tribal Museum, also known as the Jodeghat or Asifabad Museum, stands at Jodeghat village in Kerameri mandal of Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district. It honours Kumuram Bheem, the Adivasi leader who fought the Nizam's police for tribal rights under the slogan Jal, Jungle, Zameen (water, forest, land). He chose the steep ground at Jodeghat as his base for its natural defences and used guerrilla tactics, and in September 1940 he and several followers were killed here in a clash with the Nizam's men.
The museum was opened on 16 October 2016 by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and later received a grant of 25 crore rupees to develop it as a centre for tribal traditions. It displays relics mainly from the Gond, Kolam, Thoti, Andh and Pradhan communities, along with sculptures of tribal customs and events and statues of tribal gods.
