Karkodeswarar Temple is at Kamarasavalli, close to Thirumanur in Ariyalur district. The god, Karkodeswarar, faces east, while his consort Balambika faces south.
A sculpture in the temple shows Karkodaga worshipping Shiva, with Vinayaka and the bull Nandi alongside. It is said that people born under the zodiac sign of Cancer should pray here for relief. The prakaram has shrines to Vinayaka, Subramania with Valli and Deivanai, Durga, Chandikesvarar and the Navagrahas, and the wall niches hold Dakshinamurthy, Ardhanarishvara, Lingodbhava and Brahma. There is also a mandapa for Nataraja.
