Sri Kalikamba Vinayaka Temple stands on Lower Car Street in Mangaluru. It is chiefly revered by the Vishwakarma Brahmana community of goldsmiths, blacksmiths, carpenters and architects. A major renovation in 2000 rebuilt the sanctums of Ganesha and the goddess Kalikamba in granite.
Besides Vinayaka and Kalikamba, the temple honours Vishwakarma, the Navagrahas and Vasuki, with a small nagabana in the grounds, and it has a Vasantha Mantapa and a math of Sri Nagalinga Guru, known as Ayya Guru. Ugadi is the main festival, celebrated over ten days with many cultural events, and special pujas are held in Shravana and Bhadrapada. Every five years the temple holds a mass thread ceremony for poor Vishwakarma families of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
