The story
Milagres Church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in Mangaluru, with origins in the 17th century when the Portuguese held influence on this coast. It remains an important part of the city's religious and cultural history and an active place of worship.
The facade carries detailed carving with religious themes. Inside, pointed Gothic arches, ornate altars and stained-glass windows give the interior a calm, solemn feel, and services and hymns draw a mixed congregation.
