The story

Kadampanad Bhagavathy Temple stands at Kadampanad in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, roughly 12 km from Adoor and 10 km from Sasthamkotta. Three deities are worshipped here: Bhadrakali, Durga and Dharmashasthavu. The Nair Service Society manages the temple through its local karayogam, number 232.

Its annual festival comes in Meenam, around April, and lasts ten days, opening with the ceremonial raising of the temple flag and closing when it is lowered. The tenth day brings the aaraattu, the sacred bath of the Devi and Shasthavu, accompanied by a large procession with many elephants.
