The story

Haibat Khan's Mosque stands near the Jamalpur gate in Ahmedabad, south-west of Dastur Khan's Mosque. It was built in 1412 by Haibat Khan, also called Masti Khan, a noble and paternal uncle of Sultan Ahmed Shah I, and it is now a Monument of National Importance.

The building is considered of little beauty but is one of the earliest attempts at the Indo-Islamic style in the city. Its plain front wall has three small pointed arches, small unadorned minarets rise from the roof, and the centre is barely higher than the side domes. Inside, the central dome is carved with a rich variety of ornament.
