01 — The story

The story

Guru Nanak Jhira Sahib is a Sikh gurdwara in Bidar dedicated to Guru Nanak Dev, the first Sikh Guru, and is known for the healing power attributed to its waters. It draws Sikh pilgrims as well as visitors of every background who come for prayer, quiet reflection and a look at Sikh history and culture.

The complex has a sarovar, or holy pool, and the Amrit Kund, a pond of sweet water. The Guru Granth Sahib is kept in the Sukhasan room, a calm space for prayer and meditation, and a Sikh museum presents the history of the faith and the lives and work of its notable figures.
