The story

Guddattu Sri Vinayaka Temple, near Kundapura in Udupi district, is dedicated to Ganapathy and is also known as the Jaladhivasa Ganapathy Temple. It is described as the only temple of this Jaladhivasa form of Ganesha in India. Devotees believe its idol of Ganesha, around three feet high, rose out of the rock itself.

Every day the temple performs the Aayira Koda Seva along with Tailabhyanjana, Panchamrutha and Rudrabhisheka. It is associated with the Guddattu Adiga family, whose ancestry it belongs to.
