01 — The story

The story

Eco Park in Cherrapunjee was set up in 2004 by the Government of Meghalaya, which designed it and still maintains it. It was created so that visitors could take in the area's natural landscape while its fragile ecosystem stays protected.

From the park there are wide views over the deep, forested valleys known as the Green Canyons of Cherrapunjee. The grounds hold uncommon plant species and native wildlife, which draw birdwatchers, and a clear stream flows through the park.
