The story

Don Bosco Church stands near Perumpadanna Junction on the Paravur–Cherai road in North Paravur and belongs to the Latin Catholic Diocese of Kottappuram. Few churches in India carry Don Bosco's name. It became a pilgrim site after repeated reports of sacred blood stains on a bronze nilavilakku, a pedestal oil lamp; oil from the lamp is believed to heal, and thousands of people of all faiths attend the Friday Novena of the Sacred Heart.

In 2011 the church received a relic of Don Bosco during its world tour, and in 2013 a relic of Saint Faustina was brought here by visitors from Australia. The patron's feast is held in January and February, and the main festival, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, comes in June after a Bible Convention. In November, a month of rosary prayers ends with a rosary procession through the town.
