Damoh Waterfalls is a cascade in Dholpur district, unusual in a mostly dry state. Clear water drops over a rocky cliff into a pool below, and the surrounding forest and rock outcrops make it a popular spot for picnics, short hikes and swimming at the base.
The last part of the route is a short walk through countryside and village fields. Peafowl, kingfishers and occasionally deer are seen near the water, which makes the area good for birdwatching and photography. Local belief holds that the falls are named after a village deity and that the water heals, and older villagers still tell of rites performed here. Shergarh Fort, the Machkund temple and the National Chambal Sanctuary, with its gharials, are other sights in the district.
