The Chaturshringi Temple stands on a hillside along Pune's Senapati Bapat Road. The name refers to a mountain with four peaks, and the goddess, Chaturshringi, also called Ambareshwari, was regarded as the presiding deity of Pune. The temple is 90 feet high and 125 feet wide, and more than 200 steps lead up to the shrine.
The premises also hold temples to Durga and Ganesh, along with eight small images of the Ashtavinayaka, spread across four separate hillocks. The Chaturshringi Devasthan Trust manages the temple. Around Navratri a yearly fair at the foot of the hill draws thousands of people.
