The story

Charowa Dam, also called Charwa Dam, sits with four hills around it in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh district. Its reservoir can rise past the safe level during the monsoon; in 2017 the spill gates had to be opened to bring it down.

The reservoir is known as a home of vultures. Both the largest and the smallest of them occur here, the Himalayan vulture and the Egyptian vulture, along with two critically endangered species, the Indian vulture and the white-rumped vulture.
