The story

Amrit Dhara is a waterfall on the Hasdeo River, a tributary of the Mahanadi, in Chhattisgarh's Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. It lies on the Manendragarh–Baikunthpur road, about 20 to 30 km from Manendragarh, the nearest railway station, and 50 km from Chirmiri. The water drops about 90 feet in a stream some 10 to 15 feet wide.

The falls are also known for a Shiva temple. A fair started in 1936 by Ramanuj Pratap Singh Deo, then king of Koriya State, is held here every year at Mahashivratri and draws lakhs of devotees. The surroundings are a popular picnic spot, especially with families.
