The Alampur Museum, run by the Archaeological Survey of India, stands next to the Nava Brahma temples in the temple town of Alampur, Telangana. It was set up in 1952.
The museum is known for its large and varied collection of sculpture, laid out along a main corridor. More than 124 stone sculptures and 26 inscribed slabs are on show, dating from the 6th to the 16th century and belonging to the Chalukya, Kakatiya and Vijayanagara periods. Most pieces are Chalukya work of the 7th century. Highlights include Shiva with the guardians of the eight directions, Kakatiya ceiling panels with Nataraja and Nandi facing him, and a few pieces in cleaned black stone from the 11th-century Kakatiyas.
