Yarlung Army Camp is an Indian Army outpost in the hills of Mechuka, placed to support military operations and security in this border region. The camp is linked with the 1962 Sino-Indian War, fought from 20 October to 20 November that year, and its soldiers took part in the fighting.
Inside are a parade ground, simple barracks marked with the national flag, training areas including an obstacle course and a shooting range, and displays of artillery and other military equipment. A memorial further up carries the engraved names of soldiers who died in service, and the camp also has a mess hall.
