The story

Wandoor Beach lies about 25 km southwest of Sri Vijaya Puram, its white-sand shoreline running for up to 15 km with forest behind it. It is the entry point to Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, and its jetty is where boats leave for Jolly Buoy, Red Skin and Alexandra islands, each known for beaches and coral reefs.

The water off the beach holds reef fish and sea turtles. Saltwater crocodiles are sometimes seen in the area, so swimmers are advised to take care.
