The story

The Vishnu Temple at Ganpatganj in Bihar, a Hindu temple to Lord Vishnu, also goes by the names Sri Varadraja Perumal Devasthanam, Vishnudham Temple and Vishnupad Temple. It covers 15 acres (6.1 ha) along National Highway 131, in Dharahara village of Raghopur block, 35 km south of the district headquarters at Supaul and 260 km south-west of Patna.

This is a recent building. The foundation stone was laid in 2004 by Dr Pawan Kumar Mallik, a surgeon in Supaul district, and work finished in 2014. Its Dravidian style takes its influence from the Varadharaja Perumal Temple at Kanchipuram. The Sri Varadraja Perumal Devasthanam Trust, which Dr Mallik founded, has run it from the beginning; the trust has eight members.
