The Veerabhadra Temple stands on the bank of the Krishna River in Chikodi taluka of Belagavi district, about 94 km from Belgaum. Its deity is Virabhadra, one of the forms of Shiva, and the building dates from sometime between the 9th and the 12th century.
The temple follows the Dravidian style, with carved pillars and sculptures. Its riverside setting carries risks: in 2019 floods on the Krishna left the temple under water for 15 days.
