The story

Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple in Mayur Vihar Phase I, Delhi, is dedicated to Krishna in his form as Guruvayurappan, the deity of the Sri Krishna temple at Guruvayur in Kerala. Founded on 17 May 1983, it is held in special regard by Delhi's Malayali and Tamil communities.

The complex follows Kerala temple architecture, with two main gopurams on its eastern and western sides. The sanctum is divided into two chambers, housing images of Krishna and Bhagavati. Around the main shrine are smaller shrines for Ganapati, Shiva and Ayyappa, as well as a copy of a Sarpa Kavu, the sacred grove dedicated to the snake deities.
