01 — The story

The story

The Tuva Timba Hot Springs rise in Tuva village in the Godhra area, among green, hilly countryside. Their sulphur-rich water varies sharply in temperature from spring to spring, some cool, some lukewarm and some boiling. By local legend, the water first rose where an arrow fired by Lord Ram struck the earth, so that an ailing sage could be healed.

The mineral water is believed to ease skin problems and joint pain, particularly arthritis and rheumatism, and people come to bathe in it. Around the springs, low hills and greenery suit picnics and walks, and trails lead to viewpoints. Wanakbori Dam, the Garden Palace at Balasinor and Galteshwar Mahadev Temple are nearby.
