Sureswari Temple, Sonepur

Sureswari Temple stands in Sonepur, the temple town of Subarnapur district in Odisha. It sits on the left bank of the Tel river, to the south-west of the point where the Tel meets the Mahanadi.

The presiding goddess is Maa Sureswari, and the temple is known as one of the oldest Shakti shrines. Across the western part of Odisha, most people count themselves among her devotees.
