The Chari Sambhu or Gandharadi temples stand on the bank of the Mahanadi at Gandharadi village, in the Janhapank area of Boudh district, Odisha. The site is famous for a pair of temples, one to Nilamadhava and one to Sidheswar, admired for the quality of their architecture.
They are said to have been built in the 9th century under the patronage of the Bhanja rulers of Khinjali mandala, though the Archaeological Survey of India, which looks after them, dates them to the 8th century and the reign of King Gandhamardana Dev. The site was regarded as a religious centre in the days of Baudh State and draws visitors all through the year.
