The story

Shuli Bhanjan is a hill about 850 metres above sea level, 30 km from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar on the road to the Ellora Caves, which lie seven km away. Seen from the city it sits behind Daulatabad fort. Hindus, Buddhists and Jains all revere it. The 16th-century saint Eknath Maharaj did penance here, walking daily from Daulatabad fort, where he worked. He is said to have met his guru Janardan Swami at the site and to have received the blessings of Dattatreya where the Datta Mandir now stands on the hilltop.

Outside the temple is a stone that gives off the sound of a metal bell, and two hot springs lie close by. Peacocks appear along the road in the mornings and towards evening. In the rains clouds form below the viewpoint and small waterfalls run across the terrain, while wild flowers bloom in August–September and March–April. Pariyon Ka Talab, a lake, lies on the way.
