The story

Shri Kedar Temple, also called Kedareswara Temple, is a medieval Hindu temple to Shiva on the summit of Madanachala hill at Hajo, in the Kamrup district of Assam. The Ahom king Rajeswara Singha had it raised in 1753, together with the two walls that stand beside it.

At the heart of the temple is a central chamber holding a linga. Devotees regard this linga as Swayambhu, meaning that it is believed to have come into being by itself rather than being shaped or made by human hands.
