The story

The Shatrughna Swamy Temple at Payammal in Thrissur district is one of only a few temples in India dedicated to Shatrughna, the youngest of Rama's brothers in the Ramayana.

It is the fourth of the four temples that pilgrims visit on the Nalambalam yatra, a round of four temples that is held especially sacred during the Malayalam month of Karkidakam. The principal offerings made here are Sudarsana pushpanjali, Chandanam charthal and Shankhabhishekam.
