The story

The Arattupuzha Sastha Temple stands at Arattupuzha in Thrissur district and is administered by the Cochin Devaswom Board. Its main deity is Sree Dharma Sastha, whose image is believed to hold the divine life force of the sage Vasishta, family priest of the Raghu dynasty and teacher of Rama and his brothers.

Legend gives the temple an age of about 3,000 years. It is host to the yearly Devamela, an old and well-known festival at which, it is believed, all the gods and goddesses assemble at Arattupuzha.
