Shaheed Smarak, Ajmer

Shaheed Smarak is a memorial to Indian soldiers who gave their lives for the country, standing in central Ajmer just outside the main railway station. Its position makes it one of the first landmarks arriving travellers see, and many treat it as a short first stop before heading into the city.

The monument is designed as a place of remembrance for the fallen. In the evening it is lit up and its fountains are switched on, drawing local people as well as visitors to sit and spend some quiet time there.
