The story

Shah Quli Khan's Tomb in Narnaul, Haryana, holds the grave of Shah Quli Khan, the town's governor under the Mughal emperor Akbar. He had it built in his own lifetime, in the 16th century, and it remained part of his estate. It is among the rare Mughal buildings in Narnaul and is protected as a monument of national importance.

The tomb is a two-storey octagon on a raised platform, built of red sandstone with black and yellow marble. A large gateway, the Tripolia Gate, stands to the west, and a short way to the north-east is the tomb of his brother, Islam Quli Khan, a brick building of little architectural note.
