The story

Sarvaguneswarar Temple is a Shiva temple in the village of Karuveli, thought to be between 500 and 1,000 years old. It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, and Appar sang its praises. Devotees believe that those who pray here are freed from rebirth.

Shiva is worshipped as Sarvaguneswarar, the lord complete in every good quality. His consort Sarvanga Nayaki has her own shrine, and her image is 5.5 feet tall. Other shrines are dedicated to Dakshinamurthy, Durga, Brahma, Ardhanarisvara, Ganesha, Murugan, Bhairava and Chandikeshvara.
