Sadhna Pass, also called Sadhna Top, is a mountain pass at about 3,130 metres in the Shams Bari range of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies on NH701, approximately 48 km from Kupwara town, and connects the Kashmir Valley with Karnah tehsil in the Kishanganga valley. Its old name was Nasta Chun, meaning cut nose. People began calling it Sadhna after the Bollywood actress Sadhana Shivdasani came here in the 1960s, and it is also known for a legend of blind and deaf fairies.
The weather is demanding, and heavy winter snow can close the road, which is prone to avalanches. Even so, its scenery has drawn travellers and adventurers as well as those simply using the route. A 6 km tunnel is planned to give an all-weather road, with the contract for its detailed project report awarded in March 2026.
