Razdan Pass, sometimes spelt Rajdhan, crosses the Himalaya at 3,556 metres in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir. It links the Kashmir Valley to the south with the Gurez Valley to the north and is the only way into Gurez, so it also ties many remote villages near the Line of Control to the district headquarters at Bandipora. Heavy snow closes it to vehicles for three to four months or more each winter.
Harmukh, the tallest mountain in the surrounding area, is visible from the pass. Because of the winter closures, the Border Roads Organisation has planned an 18 km tunnel between Bandipora and Gurez; the proposal dates from 2009, a detailed project report followed in 2016, and preliminary central approval came in April 2018.
