Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, on Raisina Hill in New Delhi, is dedicated to the presidents of India from the founding of the republic to the present. President Pranab Mukherjee opened its first part in July 2014, and the second followed in July 2016; the full complex opened to the public in 2016, with entry and exit on Mother Teresa Crescent Road. At the time it was described as India's first underground museum.
The museum is split across three parts: the Stables Museum, the Garage Museum in the former presidential garage, and the 23 m Clock Tower, restored by IIT Delhi in 2015. Displays cover the presidents and prime ministers, the building of New Delhi, the Delhi Durbar, the freedom movement, Partition and the drafting of the Constitution. Gifts received by presidents, once kept in the Toshakhana, are on show, along with a vintage presidential Mercedes Benz, horse-drawn buggies, and figures of former presidents. Exhibits use virtual and augmented reality, holograms and 3D projections. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday.
