Ramakrishna Ashram in central Rajkot, also called Ramakrishna Math, combines an ashram with a temple and follows the teachings of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhans. The campus includes a library, an Ayurvedic centre, a hospital and a bookshop, and its gates carry emblems of the four forms of yoga set out in Swami Vivekananda's vision.
The 168-foot temple, designed by Shri Madhukar Thakor, takes its cue from the Ramakrishna Temple at Belur Math. An auditorium sits below the Naat Mandir, alongside a Bhoga room for offerings, and a railing based on the stone fences of the Sanchi stupa leads up to it. Inside are images of Hanuman and Ganesh, while a gopuram with a projecting balcony rises above the Naat Mandir, where shehnai is played at festivals.
