01 — The story

The story

Pingleshwar Beach is a stretch of golden sand on the Arabian Sea near Mandvi, about 17 km off the coastal NH 8A. Few tourists come here, and the shore is clean and undeveloped, with local fishermen at work and open views of sunrise and sunset over the water.

The beach sits close to the Nalia bird sanctuary and forms part of a wetland area that matters to local wildlife, so migratory birds can be watched here in season. Wind farms that generate power stand in the surrounding area.
