01 — The story

The story

Hodka is a village in the Kutch region, about 60 km north of Bhuj, where the community runs a tourism model built around sharing rural life, arts and crafts. Visitors stay in bhungas, round mud huts finished with local artwork and mirror work that keep cool in summer and warm in winter. The village is known for embroidery and leatherwork, and guests can watch or try these crafts.

Evenings bring folk music and dance. Many visitors use Hodka as their base for trips into the Great Rann of Kutch: the White Rann lies about 20 km away and hosts the Rann Utsav from November to March, and Kalo Dungar, the highest point in Kutch, is around 40 km off.
